Terms + Conditions

Please read these terms of sale carefully before placing your order and retain a copy of these terms of order for your future reference. By signing this contract the customer is entering into a binding agreement with “Wendy Kauffman” to purchase and for “W K” to supply the bridal gown whose details are set out in the order or such other items as are listed. Both the customer and “W K” agree to the following terms and conditions.

Description of Bridal Wear:

On completion of your consultation, a design pack will be compiled consisting of the following items: design illustrations, a written summary of the styling, construction and individual costs: design, patterning, fabrics & trims and sewing & hand finishings.

There will be a £350.00 “Design and Consultation fee” due on the receipt of the “design pack”. This will not be in addition to the quote, but deductible off the final balance. This also serves as a booking fee for time spent in development. Should the project NOT continue beyond this point, this fee will be non-refundable. This will be non-exchangeable and non-transferable.

A final design illustration with final quote will be provided by “W K”; this will reflect any developments that have been agreed before any pattern cutting will commence. If after your design has been signed off, you decide you want to develop new designs, then a secondary design fee will be added to your overall invoice.

All appointments will take place at the “W K” studio in Tiverton, Devon, UK

Colour Matching and Trims:

All provided swatches should be regarded as indications only. This also applies to all trims, lace, beading, any other trimmings and embellishments.

“W K” takes great care in the selection of fabrics and trimmings, but cannot guarantee to supply the exact colour or shade as seen in the initial sampling due to a variation in batches.

Silk is a natural fibre, so the weaving of the fabric may therefore contain minor variations and irregularities that are characteristic of this fibre.

“W K” cannot be held responsible for any fabrics, trims or goods provided by the customer.

“W K” cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by a dry-cleaner.

Measurements & Maintaining Size:

Your bridal gown is made to order, to a specific set of measurements that are unique to you, the customer. Measurements will be taken and these will be patterned to represent the approved design. A measurement sheet will be signed and dated in the presence of the customer. A 50% deposit is payable at this time.

Your weight and size must be maintained and this is the responsibility of the customer. Gowns can be taken in but there is little room to take a gown out. If the gown is taken out the fabric might bear the visible signs of needle marks. If the styling is asymmetrical, there are great restrictions on what might be possible.

However, should your body shape or measurements change, “W K” will do whatever is possible to ensure a perfect fit on the day, but there will be an additional cost, at an hourly rate for this in addition to the approved price quoted.

It is essential that customers bring with them the actual underwear and shoes that will be worn on the wedding day.

Payment System:

A £350 “Design & Consultation fee” will be due once the initial design pack has been sent.

50% of the total quote is due when you will be measured; no patterning cutting will commence until this invoice has been settled.

The balance of the project, minus payments received to date, plus any additional items or hours spent on weight-related alterations will be invoiced prior to the agreed delivery date. This final invoice is to be paid in full before any garments are released.

(For any payments by cheque, additional time has to be allowed for funds to clear.)

Refunds & Exchange:

“W K” operates a No Refund & Exchange Policy.

As your gown is made to your specifications and measurements, it cannot be sold on to recoup costs. Once you have ordered there is no option to refund or exchange.

By paying your deposit you are thereby adhering to above terms and conditions.

By paying your final invoice you are also acknowledging and accepting the above terms and conditions.

It is your responsibility to read these terms and conditions before going ahead.
